You left the door open , while leaving,
All these days of moments and time,
Rhymed and flushed , and left behind,
You left the door open , while you were leaving,
The arm-rest of my sofa, struggling to keep me put,
Years gone by now , springs peeped and monsoon soaked,
Your leaving , kept me waiting,
Am robbed and rogued
On a rainy September when our favourite cuisine knocked our lazy apartment,
Your anguish face , crushed the half burnt cigarette , abrupt and quick,
As the song of abundance at the night of the undone,
Overpowered our space
We left the mirror veiled and crooked our inner self
To calm the inside rage
All the hours and time , just a pace of paradigm
Your hair on my shirt that keeps me alert,
On my way home every dawn,
The clouds that disappeared and, only we were there through the gleaming of the moon
To see our dimmed fortune , but now gone,
You left the door open , while leaving
All these days of moments and time,
Rhymed and flushed , and left behind
You left the door open , while you were leaving,
Your leaving , kept me waiting,
Am robbed and rogued.
More about the Poem...
Sardar says, "It's about the reality of being all alone suddenly in this world . It's a cinema which will take one through its own inner self , beholding ones harsh time and good ones with flavours of intense hidden emotions .it's about love found and lost."
This is a personal recollection of loss, heartbreak and rage. Penned in quite a beautiful way, Sardar utilises rhyme and couplets to almost make a self coping tone throughout the poem that clearly demonstrates the held back rage and upset the speaker feels.
